‘Prevention of Corruption Act’ was passed in 1988. It repealed the previous acts ‘the prevention of corruption act, 1947’ and ‘Criminal law amendment act, 1952’.
POCA (Prevention of Corruption Act) is an important act in the legislative history of India. Corruption is rampant in our country, it was enacted to curb such unethical practices. However, this is another topic of debate that how much this act stopped such mean practice.
