Why did you decide to take admission in this university/college?

I want to study at reputed university and wanted well-rounded education, with the stimulating environment. I choose to go to this university because I have found opportunities for personal growth and development not only academically, but also to expand beyond classroom knowledge, the world is big place and I thought attending a big school would better prepare me for life in real world. It’s the most prestigious university and near my state.

How you prepared for this entrance exam and alongside which other entrance exams you prepared?

I didn’t join any coaching centre. I studied four hours daily for entrance exam and alongside prepared for CLAT and AILET. Newspaper reading, previous year question papers and books like AP Bhardwaj and Universal’s Guide and online mock Tests helped to complete the syllabus.

Entrance exam process

The entrance exam form was filled online, registration fee was 2175 Rs and exam was held on June 16, 2019 Sunday from 10:00a.m. to11:30a.m. I reached there by my personal transport. Members of department were taking attendance and locating the students according to their roll numbers, environment was quite comfortable.

Your success in entrance exam and whole admission process after that

I got success in my exam after the declaration of result on 26June, 2019. The next procedure was to fill admission form with required documents and submission of hard/printed copy of admission form with relevant documents by post/speed post or by hand to Co-ordinator, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, sector – 14, Chandigarh. The counselling day was held as per schedule and was calling students according to the Ranks and names; volunteers were helping the students regarding any query and about other counselling days. When my name was allotted, I entered in the hall where counselling was going on and submission of original documents and all the information regarding joining college. After some days counselling session I submitted my Fees in the form of two demand deposits to the university and final got admission at Panjab university regional centre, Ludhiana.

Any advice you want to give to law aspirants who want to take admission there.

However few suggestion that may help you;

You should have a reading habit since this profession, right from law school to legal practice, involves a lot of reading and good command over the English language since all major drafts and contracts are in English. For entrance test, you do not need to study the law at all in order to crack exam. In legal aptitude section, the question does not test your knowledge of the law but your ability to apply a given principle of law, therefore do not waste time in reading bare acts of statutes. This exam does not test your ability to do all the questions in record time. The aim is not to complete 100 questions. One should target only those questions the candidate is confident about or at least can make educational guess. One should know which questions to attempt and which questions to leave since there is 0.25 negative mark for each answer.

What is Admission Experience section of the lawmatics?

Many of them don’t know about the whole admission process and environment of that law school, this create headache for them. it’s too hectic to know know-how of admission process, documentation, fee, hostel admission, process to take PGs for many of students.
